There are various things you can do on a contributory parent visa subclass 143. These are:

• You can stay in Australia for an indefinite period.
• You can also work and study in Australia for an indefinite period.
• With this visa, you can also enrol in Australia’s Healthcare and Medicare scheme.
• You can travel in and outside Australia for five years.
• After looking at certain requirements, you can also try for Australian Citizenship.

Since this visa belongs to a permanent class category, it allows you to live in Australia for an indefinite period. If you are concerned about the citizenship, your permanent residency will start from the day when:

• The Australian Authorities will grant you a visa when you are in Australia.
• You enter Australia on this visa when you’re outside Australia.
