Points Requirements Under Distinguished Categories!
As we stated earlier, there is a minimum point requirement for every distinct category that you must fulfill to migrate to Australia under this program.
Age
Applicants are given scores according to their age at the time of application. However, it has been the trend that the people who fall in between 25-33 years of age, end up getting highest points whereas those who are more than 45 or are 45 score nil.
For the age range of 18-24, points are 25. 30 for the age range 25-32. For 33-39, it should be 25. It should be 15 for 40-44 years of age. And lastly, 0 for years range 45-49.
English Language Proficiency
Majority of the skillset applicants have to go through this test known as IELTS, PTE or equivalent exam to prove their English skills. Applicants who are citizens of UK, USA, Canada, New Zealand and Ireland are exempt from giving exam to prove the competent level of English. However if they wish to claim points for Proficient and Superior English they have to sit for an exam. Educational Qualifications
Applicants get points on the basis of their highest qualification. The qualification must gel well with the nominated occupation of the applicants that will be verified during the skills assessment time.
If you complete a doctorate degree, then you get a score of 20. If you are done with your master’s or bachelor’s degree, you get an overall score of 15 points. If you were pursuing and now completed with Australian diploma or trade qualification, you score 10 points. And lastly, Award or qualification recognized by assessing authority who assesses the skilled occupation, you get a score of 10 points.
Australian qualifications
Applicants can get the opportunity to score 5 points only if they satisfy Australian qualification from an Australian university. The duration of the course must be 92 weeks.
When you complete any degree, diploma, or trade qualification from an Australian university or institution, you get an 5 points.
Marital Status
If you are single you get 10 points for being single. If you are married you do not get any additional points.
Spouse partner skills/English
If the applicant’s spouse have positive skills assessment for the occupation in the same skills list, they can claim 5 points and additional 5 points if spouse can prove competent English i.e. IELTS 6.0 (each or equivalent) .
Nomination and sponsorship visa (subclass 190 and subclass 489)
Applicants for both the visa are given points for being sponsored by the Australian state or territory government.
